Ana Teo Ala-Ruonan My flesh is in tension, and I eat it on esitys ruumiillisesta muodonmuutoksesta, joka tapahtuu polyamorisessa ja -seksuaalisessa symbioosissa suon kanssa.
Suo on ekotoni: transitionaalinen vaihettumisvyöhyke eri ekosysteemien välillä. Ekotonissa ruumiit liittyvät toisiinsa ja mutatoituvat toistensa vaikutusten alaisina.
Esitys on euforista body horroria. Se käsittelee halua uudelleenmuotoutua yhdessä maaperän kanssa, hajota ja muuttua hiilinieluksi maailmalle.
My flesh is in tension, and I eat it on jatko-osa vuonna 2019 valmistuneelle Ala-Ruonan ja työryhmän toxinosexofuturecummings-esitykselle. Kutomon residenssissä tammikuussa 2020 Ala-Ruona käsikirjoittaa uuden teoksen tekstimateriaalia. My flesh is in tension, and I eat it saa ensi-iltansa kesäkuussa 2020 Saara Hannuksen kuratoimassa ryhmänäyttelyssä Fantasia 1&2 SIC-galleriassa.

Ana Teo Ala-Ruona: My flesh is in tension, and I eat it (working title)
“Eat me, drink me. I’m being decomposed alive, nutrients release in the soil.
I’m a bottom to you all. Use me.”
My flesh is in tension, and I eat it by Ana Teo Ala-Ruona is a performance about a bodily transformation that happens in a polyamorous and polysexual symbiosis with a wetland. The wetland is an ecotone: a transition area between ecosystems. Bodies integrate and mutate under each others influence in the ecotone.
The performance is euphoric body horror. It talks about a desire to reshape together with the dirt, decompose and transform into a carbon vortex for the Earth.
My flesh is in tension, and I eat it is a sequel for toxinosexofuturecummings performance Ala-Ruona created together with Alvi Haapamäki, Satu Kankkonen and Elina Minn in 2019. In January 2020 Ala-Ruona works in Kutomo residency on the text material of the new performance. My flesh is in tension, and I eat it will premiere at SIC Gallery in June 2020 as part of the exhibition Fantasy 1&2 curated by Saara Hannus.
