Nykytaidetila Kutomolla on kuluneen vuoden aikana saatu nähdä lukemattomia hienoviritteisiä ja omaehtoisia esityksiä ja tapahtumia sekä osallistua monialaiseen opetustoimintaan. Ehkä-tuotannon ensisijainen päämäärä taiteen vapaan kentän ammattilaisten työtä tukevien, pysyvien rakenteiden luomisesta vahvistui ja kirkastui entisestään.
Vuonna 2018 Ehkä-tuotanto yhteistuotti 7 eri kohdeyleisöille suunnattua tanssi- ja esitystaiteen teosta, jotka kantaesitettiin osana Kutomon ohjelmistoa. Lisäksi toteutettiin joukko kansallisia ja kansainvälisiä vierailuesityksiä, kiertue-esityksiä sekä järjestyksessään kymmenes tanssi- ja esitystaiteen festivaali XS. Yhteistyössä taiteilijoiden, työryhmien ja toimijoiden kanssa Ehkä toteutti 12 eri taiteenaloja edustavaa esitys- ja taidetapahtumaa. Lisäksi Kutomolla saattoi osallistua 19 työpajaan sekä säännölliseen, eri ikäryhmille järjestettyyn tanssin opetustoimintaan. Yhteisön ympärivuotinen residenssitoiminta mahdollisti vuonna 2018 24 yksittäisen taiteilijan tai työryhmän työtä. Työskentelyresidenssien lisäksi yhteisö tuki 13 paikallisen tekijän toimintaa työtilan muodossa.

Nyt-hetkessä vahvasti elävä, taiteilijavetoinen Ehkä-tuotanto kurottaa jatkuvuuteen, pitkälle tulevaisuuteen. Tulevana vuonna 2019 Ehkä-tuotanto on 15-vuotias ja Kutomon perustamisesta tulee kuluneeksi kymmenen vuotta. Kutomon kautta Ehkä on pitkäjänteisesti pyrkinyt kohti mielekästä, humaania ja taiteilijalähtöistä työympäristöä, joka mahdollistaa erilaisia kohtaamisia. Toiveikkaana kohti uutta!

Year 2018 was wonderful and luminous, thank you!
The contemporary art space Kutomo’s year 2018 has been full of exquisite and powerful performances and events. The prior aim of Ehkä-production to create a permanent structure that supports the work of the freelance artists got stronger and brighter during the year 2018.
In 2018 Ehkä-production co-produced 7 premieres and a bunch of guest performances presented at Kutomo. In addition Ehkä arranged few touring performances elsewhere in Finland and the tenth XS Festival for New Dance and Performance. In collaboration with artists, working groups and operators Ehkä carried out 12 performance and art events from different art fields. During the year 2018 Ehkä provided a chance to participate in 19 workshops and the regular dance education for various age groups at Kutomo. In 2018 the year-round residency of Ehkä enabled 24 single artist or working group’s work and also 13 local artist’s activity in the form of a work space.

The artist-run Ehkä-production lives strongly in the moment now and reaches out to continuity, far to the future! Next year 2019 it will be 10 years since Kutomo was established and Ehkä will turn 15. Through Kutomo Ehkä has pursued towards a sensible, humane and artist friendly working environment in which different encounters are possible. We are full of hope and aiming towards new things!
