“…this is winter, which nonetheless brings its own delights.” – sonetista Talvi (Antonio Vivaldi)
Laura Jantusen ja työryhmän yhdessä synnyttämä Talvi tarkastelee talven tilallista, tunnelmallista, kehollista ja mielensisäistä maailmaa. Teosprosessin aikana piirtyy vähitellen esiin kyseisen vuodenajan oma persoona väreineen, luonteenpiirteineen ja kehollisuuksineen. Prosessin aikana tavoitellaan tasa-arvoista suhdetta esiintyvän kehon ja teoksen muiden elementtien välillä. Esityksen jokainen elementti pyrkii samaan päämäärään: artikuloimaan talven kokemuksena ja olemuksena.
Talvi on ensimmäinen osa Laura Jantusen neliosaisesta teossarjasta Neljä Vuodenaikaa. Sarjan jokainen osa tehdään kyseisen vuodenajan aikana ja siitä vaikuttuen. Teossarja on esityksellinen vastine Antonio Vivaldin viulukonsertolle Le Quattro Staggioni (1725). Kutomolla helmikuun alussa vieraileva Talvi kantaesitetään Zodiakissa Helsingissä 22.1.2019.

Winter, created by Laura Jantunen and her workgroup, explores the spatial, atmospheric, bodily and psychological characteristics of wintertime, gradually fleshing out the persona, the colours, the characteristics and the bodily qualities of the coldest season. The underlying process of Winter aims to build an equal relationship between the performing body and the other elements of the performance. All the elements work towards the same objective: an articulation of the experience and the essence of winter.
Winter is the first installment of Laura Jantunen’s four-part series The Four Seasons. Each part of the series, a stage counterpart of Antonio Vivaldi’s Le Quattro Staggioni (1725), is created during and inspired by the season in question. Jantunen’s Winter will premiere in Zodiak in Helsinki on 22 January 2019 and will visit Kutomo in the beginning of February.
