Taiteilija Nada Gambier esittää New Performance Turku Festivalilla yhdessä Action Scénique -ryhmän kanssa teoksen Untamed Thingliness 1. Sara Manenten ja Marcos Simoesin kanssa toteutettu performanssi rakentuu joukolle sääntöjä ja periaatteita, joissa kontrolli ja satunnaisuus tuovat ilmi sen, mitä kommunikaatio ei kykene välittämään. Teos on sarja performatiivisia pelejä, joissa ennakko-olettamuksemme ja tarpeemme ymmärtää asioiden välisiä suhteita tulee haastetuksi. Esityksessä järki ja järjettömyys törmäävät tavalla, joka on samanaikaisesti sekä absurdia että kuolettavan vakavaa.
Gambier työsti Untamed Thingliness -projektiaan tammi-helmikuussa 2013 Koneen Säätiön Saaren kartanon residenssissä. Prosessin aikana hän työskenteli merkitysten kesyttämättömän luonteen parissa tehden erilaisia kokeiluja muun muassa esineillä, läsnäololla, teksteillä ja liikkeellä.

New Performance Turku Festival: Nada Gambier / Action Scénique: Untamed Thingliness 1
Artist Nada Gambier performs Untamed Thingliness 1 at the New Performance Turku Festival together with the Action Scénique group. The performance created together with her colleagues Sara Manente and Marcos Simoes is built on a set of rules and principles in which control and randomness give space for that which escapes them in communication. The result is a series of performative games in which our expectations and our need to understand the relation between things is challenged. In the work sense and non-sense collide in ways that are at once absurd and deadly serious.
Gambier worked on the Untamed Thingliness project at the Saari Residence maintained by the Kone Foundation in January-February 2013. During her residency she researched the untameable nature of meaning through experiments with objects, presence, text and movement.
