Kanta- ja vierailuesitysten, tapahtumien, työpajojen, kurssien ja viikkotuntien lisäksi Nykytaidetila Kutomo toimii taiteilijoiden residenssi- ja työtilana ympäri vuoden. Nykytaidetila Kutomon kauniit ja valoisat studiot 1 ja 2 mahdollistavat vuosittain runsaan tekijäjoukon työskentelyn. Ehkä-tuotannon tarjoamaa residenssiä on kiitelty rauhallisesta ja uutta avaavasta ilmapiiristä, mikä mahdollistaa taiteelliseen työskentelyyn syventymisen ilman painetta välittömästä lopputulemasta. Taiteilijaresidenssiin haetaan Ehkä-tuotannon vuosittaisen avoimen haun kautta.
Nykytaidetila Kutomon syksyn 2023 residenssikausi alkaa elokuussa ja kauden ensimmäisessä residenssissä Emmi Venna työstää teostaan This world that we imagine in this room, might be used to gain access to other rooms, other worlds, previously unimaginable, jota hän palaa tekemään Kutomolla myös marraskuussa. Teos nähdään Baltic Circle -festivaalilla marraskuussa 2023 Kiasma-teatterissa Helsingissä. Teo Ala-Ruona työstää elokuun residenssissä työryhmänsä Even Minn ja Tuukka Haapakorpi kanssa uutta teosta Parachorale, joka saa ensi-iltansa vuonna 2024. Elokuun residenssissä työskentelee myös työpari Suvi Kemppainen ja Reetta Nummi (SITOI) yhteisen teoksen ja tutkimuksen käynnistämisen äärellä.
Syyskuussa residenssissä työskentelee kolme työryhmää. Kuun alussa Hanna Ahti, Laura Rämä ja Jenni-Elina von Bagh palaavat residenssiin teoksensa [scene] tiimoilta. Työryhmä Kaisa Nieminen, Luca Sirviö, Olli Tiikkainen ja Vane Virta sekä queer art duo Amanda & Lydia työskentelevät residenssissä syys-, loka- ja marraskuussa produktion the weight of being sexy parissa. Esitys saa ensi-iltansa osana Ehkä-tuotannon XS – Uuden tanssin ja esitystaiteen festivaalin ohjelmistoa joulukuussa 2023. Syys-lokakuun vaihteessa residenssissä työskentelevät Ella Skoikka, Tuuli Vahtola ja työryhmä Tiikka Drama, Kaisa Rajahalme ja Luca Sirviö intimate expectations -teoksen parissa. Teos kantaesitetään Nykytaidetila Kutomolla lokakuun alussa 2023.
Loka-marraskuussa Nykytaidetila Kutomolla valmistaudutaan festivaaliesityksiin. Mira Kautto ja Anna Torkkel työstävät Kutomolla House of no hope -teoksen vierailua Tanssin Aika -festivaalilla Jyväskylässä lokakuun alussa. Eséte Sutinen valmistaa residenssissä Rest as a … -teosta yhdessä työryhmänsä Kid Kokko, Zipora Ogola, Biret Haarla Pieski, Gáddjá Haarla Pieski ja Anna Torkkel kanssa. Teos kantaesitetään osana Ehkä-tuotannon XS – Uuden tanssin ja esitystaiteen festivaalin ohjelmistoa joulukuussa 2023.
Syyskauden ja koko vuoden viimeiseen residenssiin joulukuussa saapuvat Tuukka Haapakorpi ja Minna-Kaisa Kallinen. Työpari työskentelee residenssissä uuden yhteistyöprojektinsa äärellä.

Artistic residencies at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo during Autumn 2023
Besides the premieres and guest performances, events, workshops, courses, and weekly classes Contemporary Art Space Kutomo serves as a year-round artist residency. The beautiful and bright studios 1 and 2 enable the artistic work of a plentiful group of artists. The residency has been praised for its peaceful and open atmosphere, which allows artists to focus on their process without immediate pressure to show completed work. It is possible to apply for the residency through Ehkä-production’s annual open call.
Contemporary Art Space Kutomo’s fall 2023 residency season begins in August and in the season’s first residency, Emmi Venna works on the piece This world that we imagine in this room, might be used to gain access to other rooms, other worlds, previously unimaginable, which they’ll return to do at Kutomo in November as well. The piece will premiere at the Baltic Circle festival in November 2023 at Kiasma Theatre in Helsinki. Teo Ala-Ruona works in the August residency with his work group Even Minn and Tuukka Haapakorpi on the new piece Parachorale, which will premiere in 2024. The last residency of August hosts the working couple Suvi Kemppainen and Reetta Nummi (SITOI) with their joint work and research.

The piece will premiere at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo at the beginning of October 2023.
In October-November, the artists at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo prepare for festival performances. Mira Kautto and Anna Torkkel process at Kutomo the guest performance of the piece House of no hope to be shown at the Jyväskylä Dance Festival at the beginning of October. Eséte Sutinen is working with her work group Kid Kokko, Zipora Ogola, Biret Haarla Pieski, Gáddjá Haarla Pieski and Anna Torkkel on the performance Rest as a ….The piece will premiere in the program of Ehkä-production’s XS – Festival for New Dance and Performance in November 2023.
Tuukka Haapakorpi and Minna-Kaisa Kallinen arrive for the last residency of the year in December. The working couple is working on their new collaborative project in the residency.
