Mikko Kuoringin Marjalle, Niko-Matille ja Rasmukselle kuvaillut äänet on tekstipohjainen kompositio, jota Himeran ympärillä toimivat äänen ammattilaiset ovat edelleen tulkinneet. Teos on jatkumoa Objects described (2017) teossarjalle, jossa eri alojen käsityöläiset toteuttivat Kuoringin heille kuvailemia esineitä oman tulkintansa mukaan. Nykytaidetila Kutomolla kuultava esitys jatkaa teossarjaa äänen muodossa.
Kuvailut ovat osin abstrakteja ja osin hyvin tarkkoja sisältäen yksinomaan tekstiä. Teokselle annetaan tarkat mitat ja assosiatiivinen kuvailu. Tavoitteena on tutkia, miten teksti tai kieli kääntyy fyysiseksi kappaleeksi tai ääneksi. Millaiseksi esine kuvitellaan, miten se kommunikoituu ja muovautuu toisen ihmisen mielessä, mihin hän keskittyy ja mitä jättää huomiotta.

Spring Roll: Himera presents Mikko Kuorinki: Sounds described to Marja, Niko-Matti and Rasmus
Sounds described to Marja, Niko-Matti and Rasmus by Mikko Kuorinki is a text-based composition, that is interpreted by a few sound artists from the wider circle around the Himera collective. The piece is a continuation of the series Objects described (2017), in which artisans of different crafts interpreted and created objects from Kuorinki’s descriptions. Sounds described continues this series of works in the form of sound.
The descriptions are partly abstract and partly very particular, but their sole content is text. Precise measures and an associative description are given. The core of the work is to study how text and language turn into a physical object or sounds. How an object is described, how the communication translates and changes in the mind of another human, what they focus on and what they leave out.
