Carried by Invisible Bodies on muistin kannattelema esitys. Teos on myös jotain muuta, ikään kuin olemassa olevan uudelleen kuvittelemista. Ruumiiden liikkeet, sanat, veistokset ja harppumusiikki ovat kaikuja aiemmin tapahtuneesta. Ne ovat jälkiä toistosta, joka kannattelee, kuormittaa, kyllästyttää ja hyväilee.
Kuvanveisto, harpun soittaminen ja runonlausunta ovat tanssitaiteen rinnalla eräitä vanhimpia taiteen tekemisen muotoja. Carried by Invisible Bodies luo poeettisen tilan, jossa nyt-hetki, henkilöhistoriat ja ei-inhimillinen aika punoutuvat toisiinsa. Materiaalit kuten savi, vaha ja heinä kasvavat ja muotoutuvat omassa tahdissaan, kun taas taiteilijoiden ruumiit ja taiteen tekemisen tavat kytkeytyvät ihmisen kulttuurihistorian kerroksiin. Anne Naukkarisen koreografia kokoaa yhteen Natalia Castrillónin musiikin, Maarit Mustosen runon ja Niina Tervon veistokset.
Teos saa ensi-iltansa Titanik-galleriassa Turussa toukokuussa 2022 ja nähdään syyskuussa 2022 MAA-tilassa Helsingissä.

– Lost Girls: Carried by Invisible Bodies
The performance Carried by Invisible Bodies is a memory holder. It’s also something else, like a possibility to re-imagine. Bodies’ movements, words, sculptures, and harp music are echoes of something that was once given. They are traces of a repetition that carries, strains, bores and caresses us.
Alongside dancing, sculpting, playing the harp and reciting poetry are some of the oldest forms of art making. Carried by Invisible Bodies creates a poetical space where the present moment, personal histories and non-human perspectives of time are weaved together. Materials like clay, wax and hay follow their own processes of growth and formation, while the artists’ bodies and their ways of making art are connected to layers of human cultural history. The music by Natalia Castrillón, a poem by Maarit Mustonen, and sculptures by Niina Tervo are gathered together and brought in conversation in Anne Naukkarinen’s choreography.
The work premieres at Titanik Gallery in Turku in May 2022, and will be performed at MAA-Tila in Helsinki in September 2022.
