Wylinka (in Polish) translates into English as ecdysis, moult. It is the process of shedding the old skin or casting off the outer cuticle, as well as its remains.
Maria Stokłosan Wylinka-teoksen lähtökohtana on maailmanloppu. Ihmisen olemassaolon muotoja sekä yhdessäolon tapoja tarkastelevan esityksen keskiössä ovat elämän dramaattiset siirtymät. Teoksen yhtenä inspiraation lähteenä on toiminut Maurizio Cattelanin veistos All, jossa yhdeksän ruumista makaa valkoisten kankaiden alla.
Teos sai ensi-iltansa Varsovan modernin taiteen museossa marraskuussa 2014.

XS Vol.8: Maria Stokłosa: Wylinka
Wylinka (in Polish) translates into English as ecdysis, moult. It is the process of shedding the old skin or casting off the outer cuticle, as well as its remains.
The performance Wylinka has its starting point in the subject of the end of the world and disintegration. One of the first images, which began the creation process was Maurizio Cattela’s sculpture All portraying bodies lying under white fabric. Eventually the focus moved from the idea of death or closure, in their literal meaning, to the dramatic transitions in life.
The matter of the performance is what exists between the three performers. The way in which they are together. At first it is the foil – its presence binds the performers, assigns tasks, becomes an instrument for a common skin. Eventually movement takes over this function. A community of common tempos and shapes is created.
Wylinka was premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw in November 2014.
